Stepping into the vibrant atmosphere of Gomoa Senior High School (GOMS) in 2016, Pink for Africa was reminded of the incredible potential held within Ghana’s coastal district. Our visit wasn’t just a formality; it was a mission to provide a cash donation that directly impacts the student welfare system.
At GOMS, “Patience and Industry” isn’t just a motto—it’s a way of life. We wanted to ensure that no student’s industry is cut short by a health crisis they can’t afford to manage.
Strengthening the “GOMS” Community
Our outreach in Gomoa Dawurampong was specifically designed to provide a financial cushion for the school’s health initiatives. By partnering with the administration, we focused on:
- Immediate Medical Relief: Bolstering the school’s ability to assist students with emergency healthcare costs.
- Health Literacy: Starting the conversation about wellness and early detection in a region where access to specialists can be a challenge.
- A Safety Net for Success: Ensuring that financial hardship doesn’t stand between a student and their graduation.
“The energy at Gomoa SHS is infectious. Our 2016 donation was a small token of our belief that every student deserves a healthy start to their professional journey.” — Pink for Africa Team
2015: A Year of Reaching Out
From the Central Region to the Eastern Region, 2016 was a foundational year for Pink for Africa. Our stop at Gomoa SHS remains a testament to our commitment to rural and peri-urban schools that form the heart of Ghana’s education system.
A huge thank you to the GOMS staff and the Gomoa community for their hospitality!
