Sika Awoonor

Board Member

Sika is the founder and Director of Choice Services Ltd, a consulting firm focused on attracting investments into Africa, in Angola and Ghana. With over 20 years of experience related to Africa, she utilizes her extensive network to create business opportunities for corporate and government clients, including notable names like Zeni Lite Buoy Company, AstraZeneca, Chevron, Coca-Cola, and Motorola.

Her firm managed the scholarship fund for Angola’s Ministry of Petroleum for eight years, successfully training over 2000 university students through the Angolan program aimed at increasing local content in the petroleum sector.

Prior to this, Ms. Awoonor was Vice President for Business Development and later Country Director for Angola at GoodWorks International. She began her journey in Angola as a UN Peacekeeping Observer during the first multiparty elections and subsequently served as Spokesperson for the UN Special Representative.

Ms. Awoonor holds a Bachelor’s degree in English and French Literature from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, a Master’s in International Affairs from Columbia University, and certificates in Finance and Agribusiness from Emory and Harvard Universities. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Leadership and Management at SALT University College in Ghana.

Additionally, Ms. Awoonor is the Project Chairperson for the Caring Sisters Anlo Traditional Area, promoting vocational education for girls and sexual health awareness for youth, and serves as Director of the Kofi Awoonor Literary Foundation, which fosters creative literary arts among Ghanaian youth.
